2017 Gävle GoKart PRIX – Stage 3

Gävle Motorstadion Rörberg best drivers

Despite the warm weather in Stockholm there was still chilly in Gävle on the race day. However, the best lap time in qualification was set in group 1! It was Rasmus Oscarsson who took his 2nd pole in 3 races. Interesting, that the difference between Bjorne Oscarsson and Tomas Jancauskas in qualification results was only 0,001 seconds! After qualification sessions racers started to complain about a big gap in gokarts performance. Already after 3 laps Bart van Wijngaarden had to switch his gokart due to a loss of power.

Qualification Results
Nr Name Best lap time Kart
1 Rasmus Oscarsson 49,364 6
2 Andreas Lamnerius 49,396 8

9 Tomas Jancauskas 51,065 3
10 Igor Scavlev 51,191 1
11 Bart van Wijngaarden 51,540 7

In Semi Final Rasmus gave his lead to Emil Östman who nicely gained 2 spots. Two Championship rookies Andreas Lamnerius and Alexey Semin could hold their positions and finished in the front of Martin Brzezinka. It was a bad session for Tomas who lost his concentration, slid off the track and stuck.

Igor Scavlev was happy to start alongside Martin from the front row in Final B. He was hoping to sit on Martin’s tail and try to get the “lucky dog” at some point. But his plans had to be corrected because of Andrius Poska and Bart who were constantly trying to overtake. That gave Martin a comfortable feeling in the front, and he finished this session with more than 10 seconds advantage.

Final B Results

6 Tomas Jancauskas 1 6 =

Andreas Lamnerius had a best starting position, but Emil Östman could take away the lead and proceeded the race in front of the pack. As history shows, racers who advanced to Final A from Final B usually gain at least one position in the final session. So did Martin this time. He took over Alexey and Andreas Oldeskog. Alexey, by the way, had to switch his gokart due to engine failure. His new ride was awful and could bring him nothing but disappointment. But the happy winner of the race was Emil who extended his lead in the Championship standings.

Final A Results
Nr Name Kart Start POS Change
1 Emil Ostman 9 2 +1
2 Andreas Lamnerius 3 1 -1
3 Rasmus Oscarsson 8 3 =
4 Martin Brzezinka 4 6 +2
5 Andreas Oldeskog 1 5 =
6 Alexey Semin 14 4 -2

If we take away gokarts performance, the track in Gävle Motorstadion Rörberg is really nice! We would like to thank track’s staff for support with organization! And we’ll see you in Uppsala on the 10th of June where chances for a better result will be higher for heavy drivers!
