The first race of 2 in Örebro took place at Gokart by JumpYard – a very unusual and interesting 2-floor indoor track. They run new electric gokarts which were almost flying during the elevation change! It was the first time GoKart PRIX visited this track and participants were using Q1 mostly for training. It was Fredrik who best adapted to this track in Q1. Berke found the best line in Q2, but he couldn’t beat Fredrik’s time. Championship’s rookie Loui showed the 3rd fastest result, followed by Igor and Mattias.
In the Final Fredrik had a good start from pole-position. Loui and Berke went side-by-side, but Berke won that fight. Loui then lost a position to Igor, but took it back on the next lap. In the front Berke was stepping on Fredrik’s toes but couldn’t find the gap to dive into. Once he pushed Fredrik into the wall, but didn’t want to take the lead by that dirty move and kept P2. Meanwhile Loui caught them and started pressing Berke. In the tail Mattias was desperate to overtake Igor, but he didn’t succeed either. Loui managed to take P2 from Berke around in the middle of the race and started chasing Fredrik for P1 on the way setting the best lap time of the day. But Fredrik was defending his lead like hell even after a few gentle pushes. Loui tried outside, then inside, then outside again. They went side-by-side several times, but nothing worked. Suddenly along came Berke who wanted back his spot, so Fredrik had a chance to take a breath. On the last lap Berke finally managed to overtake Loui, but by the very next turn Loui took it back and they crossed the finish line. That way Fredrik took his 2nd victory in the row, Loui became 2nd in his first ever GoKart PRIX race while Berke earned his 2nd podium in career. Behind them Mattias couldn’t overtake Igor and finished 5th.
With his win and the absence of Andreas Fredrik jumped onto P1 in a season’s leaderboard! Mattias dropped 2 positions and Loui appeared in the top 10.
Big thanks to Gokart by JumpYard staff for support and to all participants! Race documentation stored here.
