The championship title had been already decided during the previous race – Mattias became 2-time GoKart PRIX champion. But the title of a vice-champion hasn’t been determined yet. Berke and Igor S were the contenders. However, Igor had to win with the condition that Berke finished out of the podium. In Q1 everybody drove on speed 3. Tommy was the fastest with Mattias and Igor S behind him. Q2 everybody continued on speed 3 because one of the participants couldn’t clear the time limit yet. This time Mattias was the fastest followed by Tommie and Berke. This order after all became the starting grid for the race.
The final race of the season started with a spin on the 2nd hairpin. The reason for that – speed 4! Yes, everybody cleared the time limit in Q2, and this made speed 4 race possible. But that wasn’t easy, because for everyone it was a new condition to drive and adapt. It was leader Mattias that spun. Tommie reacted well, avoided the crash and jumped up to 1st place. Igor S who let Slawomir through on the start went around Mattias on the outside and even lost position to Igor K who was inside the turn. Not a good start if you need a win. But it didn’t take long for the Latvian to get back on P3. One of the reasons was Slawomir who spun a lap later. Joel took it easy and didn’t risk much, but that didn’t help, he still finished dead last. 🙂 Tommie, however, was already far in the front. No mistakes, clean drive and as a result – his 2nd victory in the championship! Berke finished right behind him and became a 2024 GoKart PRIX runner-up, his best achievement so far.
