There were 4 previous Challenge CUP holders participating in the annual Challenge CUP event this March. Mattias started well, showing best lap time in Heat 1. But in Heat 2 he was only 5th and Michael could set the next fastest lap after Berke. So, after 2 heats the top 3 looked like this – Berke, Mattias, Tommy. The next 2 heats that were driven in the opposite direction Berke and Tommy swapped the best lap times making Tommy become the 2nd best after 4 heats with 0,119 of a second behind Berke. Igor S managed to overtake Mattias by only 0,008 of a second!
In Heat 5 Berke was fastest again with Mattias 2nd and Tommy 3rd. This raised Tommy’s gap to Berke up to 0,229 of a second – a real challenge to beat! But Tommy won the last heat, however only by 0,031 of a second, which, of course, wasn’t enough. That way Berke kept the lead and won his 2nd Challenge CUP! Congrats to Berke!
