When our summer vacation finished we were back on the track in Linköping. After the rain the outside part of the track stayed moist and even wet at some parts. Right from the start of Qualification session Giorgio was fast and was able to show his best lap time already on lap 3. Berke was almost as fast as Giorgio. And Lucas as well.
In the Semi-Final Berke couldn’t hold his position against Lucas, and P4 Igor let Mattias through after a mistake on the last hairpin. Also Niclas managed to overtake Rasmus. His next target was Michaёl, but one unsuccessful overtake attempt let to stop of both drivers. Rasmus used it and overtook them both. Giorgio won the session and secured pole-position.
In the Final Giorgio was very confident in the front. Lucas was not far behind, but still the gap between them was getting bigger. Berke tried to hold Mattias for as long as he could, but the reigning champion found an open door and made a perfect move on the exit from the track’s indoor part, placing himself on P3. Igor then was also close to overtake Berke, but never took the chance and finished fifth. In the back of the pack Scott gained one position by using a late start from Niclas when the green light appeared. During the race Rasmus collected a little “train” behind himself until the moment when Michaёl overtook him not without a contact, where Rasmus lost 3 positions at once. This incident got left without investigation due to it being spotted only after the next stage… Niclas and Scott had a nice battle later during the race where Scott prevailed. Giorgio was having an almost 3 seconds gap to Lucas and confidently won his first race in GoKart PRIX! Lucas got a 2nd silver medal in the row, but Mattias extended his lead in the Championship by finishing 3rd in front of Berke and Igor.
Big thanks to Mattias Andersson at MAGP for helping with race organization and to all participants!
